Description

Galle is a historic coastal city best known for its UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, the fort is a maze of narrow streets lined with colonial buildings, boutique shops, and cafes. Galle is also home to beautiful beaches, such as Unawatuna and Jungle Beach, making it a perfect blend of history and relaxation.

Location

Galle is located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, about 120 km south of Colombo. It sits on a peninsula and is surrounded by the Indian Ocean.
